The Autel MaxiIM IM508S is an upgraded version of the Autel IM508, boasting a superior hardware and software configuration. Powered by the Android 11 operating system, it offers dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as expanded storage of 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory. At the heart of the device is the upgraded ROCKCHIP RK3566 processor, ensuring enhanced performance.

The Autel IM508S combines the functionalities of the Autel KM100 key fob programming tool and the Autel MK808BT Pro, making it a comprehensive solution for small workshops and DIY enthusiasts. As an upgrade from the Autel IM508, the IM508S is more capable in IMMO ECU reset/adaptation, refresh/coding, read PIN/CS (All Key Lost), key generation, key learning, remote learning, and key programming functions such as key chip read and write, EEPROM read and write, transponder read and write, and basic MCU read and write.

When connected to the XP400 Pro key programmer, the Autel IM508S offers the same IMMO functions and programming features as the Autel IM608. This further extends its capabilities, including support for BMW CAS4 key learning and programming functions like IMMO ECU read and write, MC9S12 encryption chip read and write, IC card read and write, Mercedes infrared key read and write, and remote frequency detection. The IM508S also supports PC connection.

In addition to its IMMO functions, the Autel IM508S is a powerful bi-directional scanner capable of outputting command signals to various sensors, actuators, and modules, such as ABS, windows, doors, solenoids, valves, wipers, headlamps, and seats. The Autel IM508S is a user-friendly OBD2 scanner that supports various practical functions, including a built-in TeamViewer app for remote technical guidance, Autel cloud storage for document management and sharing, and compatibility with the Autel MV108 endoscope for close-up HD images and videos of small or confined areas in vehicles. It also offers data logging capabilities to help transfer diagnostic problems to Autel technicians for support.
